The Wellington Calling Open Mic 4

Wellington's premier event venue Whisky and Wood is hosting its 4th open mic event: Wellington Calling and we're looking for diverse acts to contribute!

Our last event event had 17 performers.

Located in the heart of the city at 60 Cambridge Terrace, Whisky and Wood exudes industrial elegance with New-York loft vibes featuring washed-brick walls, soaring high ceilings, skylights and a wooden bar area.

Each performer gets the chance to have a six- minute set with a microphone, guitar and keyboard provided.

This is an originals only event. We want to encourage new creative voices to be heard.

“We want to provide a positive and encouraging environment for established and fledgling acts to shine in. Its a pretty inspiring place to perform,” says host Steven Hood.

Each performer will need to sign up in person before 7pm and registrations of interest need to be emailed to openwandw@gmail.com before May 25.

The feature act is Lore Amore a dreamy folk-pop songwriter from the UK. Her songs carry an ethereal, nostalgic vibe—like letters to the past, with heartfelt confidence. This will be one to watch.
