Saturday Sound Check Recitals - The Christchurch Accordion Orchestra

Come along to Shirley Library and enjoy some great, free, live music.

The Christchurch Accordion Orchestra is the face of the Canterbury Accordion Association and has been entertaining audiences for over 60 years. Currently the orchestra has ten members, with David Thorne as long-time Musical Director.

Three main concerts are put on by the Canterbury Accordion Association each year, including a World Accordion Day concert every May. The Accordion Orchestra also plays many smaller gigs, such as the one at Shirley Library. Their repertoire includes marches, waltzes, tangos, popular songs, carols, hymns and music from films. We are privileged to have this professional group playing for us!
